Hershel Belkin, personal

A personal blog of my life and history

As the years have gone by, I realized that much of what I have accomplished or done career-wise remains somewhat of a mystery to my own kids. I’m proud of many of the things I’ve done, and I decided to detail them in a blog format that will include images, documents, text and even videos.

Hopefully this may let my kids, grandkids, and even great-grandkids (if the blog lasts) get to know a bit more about what I did all those years!

Click “Work Stories” in the page menu for a full index by title.

A secondary blog called “Random Jottings” will contain lots of interesting but unrelated topics, and will be populated randomly 🙂

In another secondary blog called “Family History” I hope to gather whatever information I may have about some of my ancestors — including facts, anecdotes, photos and family tree snapshots.

Found my birth announcement in the Ottawa Jewish Bulletin archives! OK, they messed up on my middle name, which was “Palker” — an attempt by my mother to perpetuate her father’s surname, since he didn’t have a son. Nice to see that they included my Jewish name which I later adopted as my only legal name.
