When I was about 8 I read a book called “The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet by Eleanor Cameron. (you can read about the book here.)
My favorite character was a strange scientist-type named Tyco Bass. Among all else, he always carried around a little notebook titled “Random Jottings”, where he would record his thoughts, theories, etc. I always loved that title!
